Despite your faults, I still love you!

What’s the point?

Who is like dog?: Writing about writing about writing. -
As a writer,
we find our common themes.
One need only skim
some of my work
for a few minutes
to know what mine are.
As writers
we all have our common themes.
At one time or another
we write about writing.
Some do it more often
than others.
I do my best to
write about writing
…
Love this!
Even when I’m happy, I’m sad!
I’ve never been to the ocean before
never had the pleasure of viewing the ocean floor.
I’ve never had a long walk on the beach
I’ve had my share of long island iced teas.
I’ve never been to war overseas
I’ve never wrote poems like these.
“I’ve never knew love like this before”
I put my “Thum” on a “map” and wonder
will I ever get to explore?
Emotions that are as deep as that ocean floor, that
I’ve never had the pleasure of viewing before.

Can anyone figure out the analogy that I made in the quotes?

Memories have carried me through the years
burden filled tears dreams filled with fears
turn into nightmares and blank stares
swallowing my pride
learning to hide
from the hurt inside
filling a void becoming annoyed
with life and it’s strife
sharp pains shoot through my soul
I can’t control it
so I sit and write my way on a mental vacation
accepting happiness in every place visited
basking in my thoughts like a drug
learning to sweep petty inconsistencies of
life, love and pain under the rug
